It's finally Friday and we have completed our first week of the
"10 days out" process. Here at Moody, being 10 days out is
simply a transition period between you casual job and the
beginning of UPT, which for us will be on the 30th of November.
This past week we really have not done much aside from
equipment fitting where we get our G-Suit, helmet, mask,
publications and all other equipment we will need to begin UPT.
Portraits have been taken and in processing paperwork has
been signed...now we're simply going through various
orientations and briefs to get us familiar with the routine and
what we will be doing for the next 8 months.

It's Tuesday and the beginning of the second week of our 10
days out process. The weekend was great... Friday night I went
to E Flight's track select, and later heading to Tallahassee for
the rest of the weekend with Scott to visit his finance and to
race in a small regatta out at FSU.
Today we had some good briefs by our CC, DO and flight
commander telling everyone what is expected of us throughout
UPT and beyond. The basics we've all heard before in every
welcoming brief were covered, but we also had a great financial
brief by our flight commander and our CC made absolutely
clear that there were to be no SNAPs (Sensitive New Age
Pilots) in our class or any other. Basically don't be the guy who
whines is what it came down to, as we are learning very quickly
here that your attitude throughout UPT is as important as the
academics and flying if you want to be successful. Study habits
were also stressed, and I think that people are beginning to
realize just how important our Boldface and Ops Limits are
going to be to us throughout training. This week will be a short
week as Thanksgiving break will take up the last portion of it,
Disney World this weekend, and UPT officially starts the
following Wednesday!!! Hope everyone has a great
Thanksgiving!
